Thank you for your question.  Please see the attached video, which explains how to view and download ebooks as well as how to transfer them to a mobile device.

From your description, it sounds like the video will be most helpful to you starting at about 1 minute.  That section talks about installing Adobe Digital Editions, the software required to download an ebook for offline viewing.  You may use this link to download Adobe Digital Editions before or after viewing the video.

After you have successfully installed Adobe Digital Editions, it is necessary to create an Adobe ID.  The video explains how to do this.  (These extra steps are required because of the book publishers' desire to protect the copyright of their books.)

Video Sections:

  • Download ebooks 0:41
  • Transfer to mobile device 2:26
  • Download directly to mobile device 3:54

To download ebooks, you will need:

  • myEBSCOhost account
  • Adobe Digital Editions software
  • Adobe ID account
  • BlueFire Reader app (if you plan to use a mobile device)

I hope this this helps you successfully view the ebooks you checked out.  Please feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Again, thanks for your question, and good luck!

Sincerely,

Lamson Library Reference/Research Desk
